At our studio, dancers of all ages are welcomed into a supportive, inclusive community where every student is encouraged to grow with confidence and joy. We provide exceptional classical ballet instruction rooted in the Vaganova method, guided by credentialed, background-checked faculty dedicated to both artistic excellence and student well-being. In addition to ballet, we offer a wide variety of classes including tap, modern, Irish dance, and more, giving students the opportunity to explore multiple styles and discover their passion. With multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, dancers gain valuable stage experience while building discipline, creativity, and lasting friendships.


What Age Can My Child Start Dancing/Am I Too Old To Start At The Very Beginning?

Our Music and Movement and Dance FUNdamentals classes are designed for our littlest dancers ages 3-5. Most other beginner classes are appropriate for ages 6 and up.

It’s never too late to discover the joy of dancing — no matter your age or experience, our adult classes are specially designed for absolute beginners who are ready to take their very first steps with confidence and fun.


Is There Financial Assistance?

Company dancers are welcome to apply here for a scholarship to cover a portion of their company dues. Boys and men’s ballet classes as well as partnering class are provided tuition free by a generous grant from Arts Huntsville.

How can I contact you?


For Ballet levels 1-8 attire requirements can be found here. For all other classes we suggest clothing that you can move in comfortably and is not too baggy.

What Classes Are Open To Adults?

Lots! We do have classes specifically designed for adults in various disciplines and levels such as tap, ballet, and Irish, but adults are welcome to join in the higher level ballet classes if they have the required technical ability. Adults are also welcome in the pre pointe class with instructor approval. Reach out to our school director at catie@rocketcityballet.org if you would like to inquire about a specific class or need a level assessment.


Am I Allowed To Watch My Child’s Class?

Yes! All our studios have windows where parents can observe from outside the classroom.


How Do I Know What Level To Place My Child In?

If this is your first time at RCB, email our School Director at catie@rocketcityballet.org to set up a level assessment. Existing students will receive placement cards at the end of every school year indicating which level is best for them.


Can I Try Out A Class Before Registering?

Absolutely! We welcome new students to have a trial class free of charge. Simply email catie@rocketcityballet.org and mention what class you will be attending. We also offer a drop-in payment option if you are not ready to commit to a full season registration.


What Classes Are Available For Boys and Men?

Boy’s Ballet and Teen/Men’s Ballet are classes specifically for male students. These students may enjoy the full year of one ballet class, as well as Partnering class, if eligible, tuition free thanks to a generous grant from Arts Huntsville. Boys and men are welcome to join all other classes such as Adult Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Theatrical, Irish, or Modern!
