Dance FUNdamentals

Music & Movement

Dance FUN(damentals) 1 & 2 is for ages 3 & 4 respectively. It provides an excellent foundation for the study of all forms of dance.

Music & Movement invites preschool students to explore and experience foundational elements of music and movement through play-based activities. This class follows Dr. John Feierabend’s First Steps in Music curriculum, an 8-part musical workout consisting of pitch exploration, fragment singing, simple songs, improvisation, movement exploration, movement for form and expression, beat motion activities, and song tales. The movement portion of the class is based on Rudolf von Laban’s framework of movement, which includes awareness of body, effort, shape, and space.
